This is so true Karim, borders used to be the sea or rivers or mountains

Absolutely, not decided by arbitrary lines. When humans could travel through choice and without restrictions

Wry and perfect for causing a lift of one side of the mouth in a half-grin. So - bitter-sweet as well.

I hate what borders have done to us. Displacement, restriction, genocide and extraction. Thank you as always for yoir voice and wisdom Karim. Mashallah.

My father took my family in a road trip when I was a kid. Our land is so beautiful, yet mostly I remember the fences and the power lines and telephone poles and how disgusted I was with them all. Artificial separation accompanied by artificial connection. This impression has never left me. How I long for humanity to grow up and abandon the things of childhood!
